The
Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible,
consisting of the Old and New Testament
Scriptures, was written by men divinely
inspired Holy Spirit and is a perfect
treasure of heavenly instruction; that
it has God for its Author, salvation for
its end, and truth without any mixture
of error for its matter; that it reveals
the principles by which God will judge
us and therefore is, and shall remain to
the end of the world, the true center of
Christian union and the supreme standard
by which all human conduct, creeds, and
opinions should be tried. 2 Timothy
3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Isaiah 8:20; I
Thessalonians 5:21
The
Godhead
We believe there is one, and only one,
living and true God, an infinite, ever
living, eternal God, intelligent Spirit,
infinite in power, holy in nature,
attributes and purpose, in His absolute,
indivisible deity who's name is JEHOVAH,
the Maker and supreme ruler of Heaven
and earth; that He is inexpressibly
glorious and worthy of all possible
honor, confidence and love. We Believe
that in the unity of the Godhead there
are three manifestations - the Father,
the Son , and the Holy Spirit - equal in
every divine perfection and executing
distinct but harmonious offices in the
great work of redemption. We believe He
has revealed Himself as the Father in
Creation, through the Son in redemption
and the Holy Spirit by emanation. We
believe that the fullness of the godhead
bodily dwells in the man Christ Jesus,
and these three are one. That Jesus is
the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and
that no man can be saved and come to the
Father but by Jesus Christ. 1 Cor
8:6; Eph 4:4-6; 2 Cor 5:19; 1 John
5:7-8; John 4:21; Psalm 83:18; Exodus
15:11; Mark 12:30; Matthew 28:19; John
10:30; Eph 2:18; John 14:8-9; Colossians
1:19; Colossians 2:9.
The Son Of
God
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son
of God. In the fullness of time God sent
forth His Son born of the Virgin Mary,
born under the law, to redeem us from
the law. Gal 4:4-5. In Him
dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead
bodily. Col 2:9. That God was in
Christ reconciling the world unto
Himself. 2 Cor 5:19. That no man
can come unto the Father unless he comes
through Jesus the Christ. He is the only
way to salvation and to heaven.
The Fall
Of Man
We believe that in the beginning man was
created in the image of God in absolute
true holiness to the law of His Maker,
created man innocent, pure and holy, but
yielded to the temptation of the
serpent; which caused man to fall from
that holy and happy state. In
consequence of which all mankind are
sinners. Being by nature utterly void of
that holiness required by the law of
God. Positively inclined to evil, and
therefore, under just condemnation to
eternal ruin without defense or excuse.
Gen 1:27, 31; Gen 3:6-24; Isaiah
53:6; Ezekiel 18:19, 20; Rom 1:20; Rom
5:12-19.
Repentance
We believe that repentance and faith are
sacred duties, and also inseparable
graces, wrought in our soul to God,
confessing ourselves as sinners,
receiving forgiveness through the Lord
Jesus Christ and His blood atonement for
sinners, witnessed by the definite
change from sin to righteousness. Jesus
alone is the only and all sufficient
Saviour. Acts 17:30; 11:18; 1 John
1:9; Mark 1:5; Acts 11:18; Eph 2:8; Acts
2:37-38; Romans 10:9-10.
Our
Redemption
We believe our redemption has been
accomplished solely by the shed blood of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made sin
for us, dying in our form and stead,
rising again from the dead, ascending
with His glorified body to the right
hand of God, and by believing in His
finished work, we are justified before
God, cleansed of all our sin and
redeemed from the curse of the law. John
3:3; Rom 5:1; 10:9-10; Acts 13:39; 2 Cor
5:14-21; Gal 2:16, 3:13; 1 Pet 1:18-19;
Tit 2:14; Rev 5:9.
Baptism in
Water
We believe that Christian baptism is the
immersion in water of a believer and we
administer it in the Name of the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit, through the
authority given us in Jesus Name to show
forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem
our faith in the crucified, buried and
risen Saviour with its effect in our
death to sin and resurrection to a new
life. Acts 8:36-39; John 3:22-23;
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Acts 2:41-42.
The
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Baptism into Holy
Spirit is for believers and is obtained
by obedience (Acts :38-39; 5:31-32),
by asking (Luke 11:13), on of the
evidence is speaking in other tongues as
Holy Spirit gives utterance, this is a
distinct, separate, and subsequent
experience to conversion; also that it
is the standard for the normal Christian
experience since Pentecost.
The Gifts
of Holy Spirit
We believe the gifts of Holy Spirit
should be manifested in the local church
today, and that all Spirit-filled
believers should earnestly covet the
best gift for the edification and
up-building of the church. We believe
that there are nine gifts of the Spirit,
that they will remain in the church for
our edification until He comes. That all
the gifts should work at all times by
love, and be manifested decently and in
order. That God would not have us to be
ignorant concerning these gifts. And
that the spirit of the prophets are
subject to the prophets. For God is not
the author of confusion, but of peace in
all churches of the saints. We believe
that all manifestations of the gifts are
to be judged by the spiritual leadership
of the local church. 1 Cor 12; 14:1;
I Cor 12:1-12; Romans 12:4,6,8; Eph
4:11; I Cor 12; I Cor 14:18,19,26,32,33;
I Cor 14.
The Fruit
of the Spirit
We believe the Spirit filled believer
will produce the fruit of the Spirit in
their lives and their walk will be
according to godliness and holy living.
Gal 5:22-23; 1 John 2:6; 1 Pet 1:16,
Tit 2:11-13; 2 Cor 7:1; James 5:20;
Philippians 2:4; I Peter 4:8-9;
Colossians 3:14; I Cor 13:1-3.
Tithes and
Offerings
We believe that tithing is God's
financial plan to provide for His work,
and has been since the days of Abraham.
Tithing comes with faith under Abraham;
Moses' law enjoined it, and Israel
practiced it when she was right with
God; Jesus endorsed it (Matt 23:23),
and Paul said to lay by in store as God
has prospered you. Do not rob God of His
portion, i.e., tithes and offerings (Mal
3). We believe as the tithe is the
Lord’s, we don’t have the right to steal
it, borrow it, withhold it, divert it,
or use it. Tithing is God’s plan before
the law, during the law and after the
law. We pay it because God commands it,
because we enjoy it and because we owe
it. We believe that the tithe and
offerings are the only biblical means
whereby the local body is sustained and
the Gospel carried to the Nations. That
all tithes and offerings should be given
into the local church body so there may
be meat (solid teachings from the Word
of God and the power of His Spirit) in
the house, for records, tax purposes and
distribution. Leviticus 27:30;
Genesis 14:20; Matthew 5:7; Hebrews
7:2-5,8; Genesis 28:22; Matthew 6:33;
Matthew 23:23; Deuteronomy 14:22; II
Chronicles 31:5; Luke 11:42; Acts
5:1-10; Nehemiah 13:12; I Cor 16:2;
Malachi 3:8-10
Ministry
Gifts to the Church
We believe in the full operation of the
Five-Fold ministry gifts that Christ
gave to the church, (Eph 4:7-16),
they are for the perfecting of the
saints for the work of the ministry, for
the edifying of the body, for the unity
of the faith and the knowledge of the
Son of God, for the maturing of the
church, to see her rise up in glory and
power and to see all things summed up in
Christ Jesus. Eph 4:7-16; Acts
21:8-9; II Timothy 4:5; I Cor
12:7,26-30; Romans 12:6-8.
Second
Coming of Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is
coming again in person just as He went
away. This is very clearly set forth by
the Lord Himself and was preached and
taught in the early Christian Church by
the Apostles. Hence the children of God
today are looking forward to the
glorious event. Matt 23,24; Acts
1:11, 3:19-21, 1 Cor 11:26; Phil 3:20; 1
Thess 4:14-17.
The Final
Judgment
We believe, that there will be a great
and final judgment as recorded in the
Word of god. Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:11-15.
This is the judgment of the unjust where
all the wicked are judged and all those
who have never made Jesus the Lord of
their life and who’s names are not found
in the Book of Life shall be cast into
the lake of fire burning with brimstone,
which God has prepared for the devil and
his angles, Satan himself being cast in
first. Matt. 25:41; Rev. 7-15; 21:8.
Communion
We believe that all followers of Christ
should partake of communion, or Lord's
Supper, in remembrance of His Death
until He comes again. We believe that
the Lord’s Supper, in which the members
of the church by the sacred use of the
bread and wine are to commemorate the
dying love of Christ, is to be preceded
always by solemn self examination.
Luke 22:19-20; Matt 26:26-28; 1 Cor
11:23-34.
Foot
Washing
We believe in the practice of foot
washing. John 13:2-17; 1 Tim 5:9-10.
Divine
Healing
We believe healing is in the atonement,
that God is still the Healer of His
people, and that the church should
recognize and practice this ministry as
directed by the Lord Himself and
practiced by the early church. Ex
15:26; Isa 3:5; Mk 16:18; James 5:14;
Heb 13:8.
Our Way of
Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners
is wholly of grace through the
mediatorial offices of the Son of God
who, by appointment of the Father,
freely took upon Him our nature; that
being conceived by Holy Spirit and born
of the Virgin Mary, yet without sin, He
honored the divine law by His personal
obedience and by His death made a full
atonement for our sins; that, having
risen from the dead, He is now enthroned
in Heaven and, uniting in His wonderful
person the tenderest sympathies with
divine perfection, He is in every way
qualified to be a suitable, a
compassionate and an all-sufficient
Saviour. Eph 2:8; Hebrews 7:25; John
3:16; Colossians 2:9; Isaiah 53 4-5;
Philippians 2:16-17; Hebrews 2:18.
Our
Justification
We believe that the great Gospel
blessing, which Christ secures to such
as believe in Him, is justification;
that justification includes the pardon
of sin and the promise of eternal life
in principles of righteousness; that is
bestowed not in consideration of any
works of righteousness which we have
done, but solely through faith in the
Redeemer’s blood, by virtue of which
faith His perfect righteousness is
freely imputed to us of God; that
justification brings us into a state of
most blessed peace and favor with God
and secures every other blessing needful
for time and eternity. John 1:16;
Acts 13:39; Romans 5:9; Romans 4:4-5;
Romans 5:1-2.
Our
Freeness Of Salvation
We believe that the blessing of
salvation are made free to all by the
Gospel; that is the immediate duty of
all to accept them by the cordial,
penitent, and obedient faith; and that
nothing prevents the salvation of the
greatest sinner on earth but his own
inherent depravity and voluntary
rejection of the Gospel, which rejection
involves him in an aggravated
condemnation. Isaiah 55:1; John 5:30;
Romans 16:25-26; John 3:19.
Our Grace
In Regeneration
We believe that, in order to be saved,
sinners must be regenerated or born
again; that reseneration consists in
giving a holy disposition to the mind;
that it is effected in a manner above
comprehension by the power of the Holy
Spirit, in connection with divine truth,
so as to secure our voluntary obedience
to the Gospel; that its power evidence
appears in the holy fruits of
repentance, faith, and newness of life.
John 3:3; II Corinthians 5:17; John
3: 8; I Peter 1:22-25; Ephesians 5:9;
Galatians 5:16-23.
Of God’s
Purpose Of Grace
We believe that election is the eternal
purpose of God, according to which He
graciously regenerates, sanctifies, and
saves sinners; that being perfectly
consistent with the free agency of man,
God’s purpose comprehends all the means
in connection with the end; that grace
is a most glorious display of God’s
sovereign goodness, being infinitely
free, wise, holy and unchangeable; that
grace utterly excludes boasting and
promotes humility, love, prayer, praise,
trust in God, and active imitation of
His free mercy; that it encourages the
use of means in the highest degree; that
it may be ascertained by its effects in
all who truly believe the Gospel; that
it is the foundation of Christian
assurance; and that to ascertain it with
regard to ourselves demands and deserves
the utmost diligence. I Timothy
1:8-9; II Thessalonians 2:13-14; Exodus
33: 18-19; II Timothy 2:10; II Peter
1:10-11.
Of
Sanctification
We believe that sanctification is the
process by which, according to the will
of God, we are made partakers of His
holiness, that it is a progressive work;
that it is begun in regeneration; and
that it is carried on in the hearts of
believers by the presence and power of
Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter,
in the continual use of the appointed
means - especially the Word of God,
self-examination, self-denial,
watchfulness, and prayer. I
Thessalonians 4:3; I John 2:29; Romans
8:5; Philippians 2:12-13.
Of The
Perseverance Of The Saints
We believe that such only real believers
as endure unto the end; that their
persevering attachment to Christ is the
grand mark which distinguishes the from
superficial professors, that special
Providence watches over their welfare;
and that they are kept by the power of
God through faith in salvation. John
3:31; I John 2:19; Romans 8:28;
Philippians 1:6.
Of The
Harmony Of The Law And The Gospel
We believe that the law of God is the
eternal and unchangeable rule of His
moral government; that it is holy, just,
and good; that the inability which the
Scriptures ascribe to fallen man to
fulfill its precepts arises entirely
from their love of sin; and that the one
great end of the Gospel is to deliver
them from this inability and to restore
them, through a Mediator, to unfeigned
obedience to the holy law and of the
means of grace connected with the
establishment of the visible church.
Romans 3:31; Romans 7-12; Romans 8:7-8;
Romans 8: 2-4.
Of A
Gospel Church
We believe that a visible church of
Christ is a congregation of baptized
believers, associated by covenant in the
faith and fellowship of the Gospel,
observing the ordinances of Christ,
governed by His laws, and exercising the
gifts, rights, and privileges invested
in them by His Word; that it’s
scriptural officers are Apostles,
Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, Teachers,
Bishops, Elders, and Deacons, whose
qualifications, claims, and duties are
defined in the epistles. I Corinthians
12:27-31; Ephesians 4:7-16; Matthew
18:17; I Corinthians 1:1-13; I
Corinthians 11:2; Matthew 28:20; Acts
2:41-42; I Timothy 3; Titus 1.
Of Civil
Government
We believe that civil government is of
divine appointment for the interests and
good of human society; and that
magistrates are to be prayed for,
conscientiously honored, and obeyed,
except only in things opposed to the
will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is
the only Lord of the conscience and the
Prince of the Kings of the earth, Lord
of Lords, and King of Kings. Romans
13:1-7; Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29;
Matthew 23:10.
Of The
Righteous And The Wicked
We believe that there is a radical and
essential difference between the
righteous and the wicked; that such only
as through faith are justified in the
name of the Lord Jesus and sanctified by
the Spirit of our God are truly
righteous in His esteem, while all such
as continue in impenitence and unbelief
are in His sight wicked and under the
curse; and that this distinction holds
men both in and after death; that those
who are wicked, will after leaving this
life, live in everlasting punishment in
hell. Malachi 3:18; Romans 1:17; I
John 5:19; Luke 16:25; Isaiah 5:14;
Matthew 25:41; Psalm 9:17; Revelation
9:2; Revelation 20:11-15.
Of The
World To Come
We believe that the end of this age is
approaching. I Peter 4:7. We
believe in "That Blessed Hope" - the
personal, imminent return of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ, the
resurrection of those who are asleep in
Christ, that those who remain will be
caught up to meet the Lord Jesus in the
air. Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians
4:13-18. We believe in the bodily
resurrection of the just and the unjust,
the everlasting blessedness of the
saved, and the everlasting punishment of
the lost. Acts 24:15; Matthew 24:
31-46; Revelation 22:11.
